Animatic Animatic on the Theory of Evolution

Check out my Animatic Animation on the Theory of Evolution!

What I Learned?

I learned how to add an animatic to a video sequence in adobe premiere. I didn't understand how to do it in class, so I looked up videos that walked through a step-by-step process on how to add animations. I think I'm starting to get a better understanding on how to use Adobe Premiere.

What I Couldn't Figure Out?

I still couldn't figure out how to crop certain images to fit the screen or how to make an image appear clear. My focus on this assignment was mainly to learn how to add in an animation, not how the pictures looked. For the final project I plan on taking time to make sure the pictures are clear and cropped correctly.

What do YOU have to say about Evolution?

In my podcast animatic, I discussed the theory of evolution with students and biology professors at High Point University. I wanted to know if an individuals religious beliefs affected their opinions on the theory of evolution, whether they were on a student professor. In other words, I wanted to see if a biology professor would feel obligated to support the theory of evolution simply for being a teacher in the field.

While creating the animatic, I had a difficult time cropping a few vertical pictures in order to fit the screen to avoid a black background. One of my pictures of the question mark and the woman thinking are both cropped incorrectly because they are vertical images. I couldn't figure out how to crop them correctly, and it bothers me that these two images don't match the rest of the images in the animatic.

I also had difficulty downloading the images and exporting the animatic as a .mpeg or .mov file. After I would place my images in the animatic, they would turn red and say that they couldn't be downloaded. There were multiple points where I thought I lost all of my work completely. All these issues tell me that I need a lot more practice using Adobe Premiere and editing in general. I have never used software like this before and I am eager to learn how to become better.
